a comment on the Instant Answer Idea We need some real movie trailer IA that just works. 2 years and 9 months ago
I could really use this Instant Answer now, as there has recently been released a trailer for a movie I'm looking forward to! :D

BTW, we could actually use a way to hide spoilers behind some kind of interaction.
Kind of like they have on reddit. :) On desktop it's simply hover/focus (based on CSS).
I haven't used reddit on mobile, but I suppose it's on long-tap.... that's actually quite interesting!

Also, the above is, purposely, not very descriptive, as I wouldn't want to ruin it for anyone, by telling what movie it is.
I have OCD myself*, so I know that the smallest thing can ruin the day or next hour, or ... for us.

*Yes, seriously. Can't you tell? :P
No, I am serious, I do have OCD.
I'm just trying to be funny.
:)

Thanks for reporting this problem! It's much appreciated!

I want to apology for the Safe Search failing.
I will report this to the developers immediately, as what you describe is not acceptable.

Again, thanks for reporting. I'll let you know right away when the problem's been solved.

Thanks for your suggestion! It's very appreciated!

I hope you can you clarify something for me?

Do you mean to we should show Wikipedia summaries in search results?
We actually already do that, e.g. try a search for John Galt, as you suggested above.
In the case of the John Galt-search, Wikipedia also has articles about others things named John Galt, as shown in the Meanings tab, i.e. John Galt-meanings.
DDG show the meanings tab to make sure we show you the right Wikipedia article.

Or do you mean to move the suggestions to the right side of the page?
That might be possible, but I'll have to ask the developers?

Please do let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
Casper Qvortrup
a reply to a comment on the General Rambling Bang syntax for the Marvel Wikia uses the wrong search URL. 3 years and 1 month ago
Thank you for your suggestion!

{{{s}}} should be placed where the keyword goes. The keyword in is what you search for, in case Iron Man.

So the URL would be this:
Code:
http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Search?search={{{s}}}&fulltext=Search

P.S. I am sorry about the confusion. The "New !bang"-page could be phrased better. I will forward the feedback to the rest of the team, asap.

a comment on the Instant Answer Idea PhalconPHP Quick Info Box 3 years and 6 months ago
It seems the problem was that Wikipedia didn't redirect PhalconPHP to the actual page wich is located at Phalcon (framework). I have update this at the source level, i.e. Wikipedia, meaning when DuckDuckGo's own crawlers and sources index the page it will updated automatically.

TL;DR: It will be updated when DuckDuckGo reindexes the page.
a comment on the Instant Answer Idea Celebrity Dead or Alive 3 years and 6 months ago
Personally, I think this is a great idea. It's especially useful, when Internet trolls decides to falsely state a certain celebrity is dead, when in fact the person is alive and well.

No worries! :) You're more than welcome to submit here, when in doubt. :)

Basically these are the types of IAs that exists:
Spice - TL;DR: API calls.
Goodie - TL;DR: Perl-only code, with no external calls.
Fathead - TL;DR: key-value based IAs, backed by a database.
Longtail - TL;DR: database-backed, full text search.
