That would be perfect! : ) What meant about "sharing your settings", was that if this suggestion on duck.co became a reality, you should be able to share your settings without people being able to modify your settings.

I agree with you April. : )

Also, Gravatar-powered avatars can be blocked by Ghostery, which was the case with my installation, since I've just blocked all "trackers" by default.

Not knowing this may annoy some people, including me, when suddenly you can't see avatars. I think it must have been added to Ghostery very recently, as it's only been a problem lately.

As a side note: According to Just Delete Me "You can't delete your Gravatar Account without deleting your entire WordPress Account."INVALID URL

Another feature, that I would like implemented is "tagging" of people. : D
E.g. if you write
Code:
@username
, it would turn into a link to the given user's profile, if his/her profile is public.

Of course, it should be possible to turn off this feature, if you don't want people to be able to tag you. : )

In any case, I think it should be considered, that the "tagged" user would be "notified", that he/she is mentioned in a post/comment.

It would be awesome if the link, could make a little bubble-ish pop-up appear, when hovering over the username/link.

Something like they do over at Butns.com.
You should definitely check that site out! ...Yeah I know, the hasn't been updated in a couple years, but it's still a brilliant idea! : ) (someone should take up that idea cook up some self-hostable script with some fancy jQuery plugin. That'd be great! : P)
a reply to a comment on the General Rambling What are the benfits of logging the user agent of people submitting feedback? 4 years and 11 months ago
Okay! Earlier today, I had what, I myself would call a brilliant idea! : D Okay, here we go! : P

Why not make the logging of the user agent be an opt-in.

You could write something like this in the notice box:
"If it's okay with you, we would like save some information about, which browser and OS you're using.
You can see what exactly we save here: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=user+agent

Note: This may decrease you privacy, but it will help us to better solve your problem and, in the long term, help us make DuckDuckGo even better.
Isn't that a win-win situation? We thought so, too. : )

-Insert unchecked(!) check box here- Yes, I want to share my User Agent.

Awesome! Cool idea Gabe. : )
Is this country codes as in those you use for prefixing telephone numbers? E.g. +45 in Denmark and +44 for the United Kingdom.
I think these are those I mean, but I'm not sure. : )

Hey x.15a2!
What I meant was that, if you select some text you can quickly surround it with a given formatting-related-BBCodes, by using a shortcut.

For example, if you write "sample text", then select that text, and click CTRL+B, this will surround the selected text with "" and "", respectively. This works with "italic" text (CTRL+I), and "underlined" text (CTRL+U), as well.

The BBCodes works just fine. : ) I was just annoyed that these "shortcuts" can't be turned off.
I hope this makes sense. : )
