Hello,

sry but this is now a little bit weird...

I did recommend that DDG should include a proxy service to have the possibility to access blocked websites.
The first one who posted in the corresponding thread was you, while saying that there is no need for a proxy and so on.

Now, because I have some sparetime and wanted to look what others did recommend, I see you post here while you "do" recommend to use proxys from which you "never" know who is the owner and what they will do with your data you will give them. And this shall then be 100% anonymous? Please don't forget that the proxy-owner knows your real IP and that Microsoft, who owns now Skype, can anyway read all what you type, look in your face, while you do it and later can give all those informations to the NSA. Dont you think same, "leet"?

For everyone else, we recommend, that you should only use proxys if you did set them up yourself.

Kind regards,

Your answer is too short... lol

Hello again,

while I am not allowed to post links, I can only name you some application names.
One is called "Peerblock" (freeware) and will show you directly, on a nice list, what connections are being made (with logging function) while you visit the internet.
Please note its a nice addon tool, but you maybe can gain more satisfaction from tools like Comodo Internet Security (also free) or Privatefirewall from Privacyware (also free).
Links can be found on my own website on the right, or via DDC websearch, as you like! :)
Please note that Peerblock interacts on svchost.exe, a Windows hooking service, which I do not really prefer. So tools like Comodo can help you to block those request too with advanced Defense rules being set.
Also note that Peerblock is hosted on googlecode (if you want the latest Beta-Release). So you will have to use a direct connection, a proxy, or similar, to access google.

However, Peerblock is a nice tool with which you can create your own IP-Lists for allowed and denied connections. Also nice is its option to allow a IP for a specific amount of time temporarly, so you can test everything out, or do a Mass-Block from 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255 like I do and then check what Sites/IPs you mainly use for browsing and put them in a whitelist.
A pity is that Peerblock still doesn't support IPv6 which is a lack of security...

You surely could also use a packet-sniffer to check all in and outgoing connections.

I cannot recommend addons like WorldIP for Firefox because it will spam you fully away with outgoing DNS and TCP request to alot of strange IP's!

Hope I could help... :)

Hi!

Yet there is none, because all seem to work for the NSA...

As soon I find the time I will try to mod chromium myself and maybe then there will... letz hope I find it soon! :)

Hello,

I had same problem with DDC before.
All searchengines did list my site near top (when it was new) after a while but it did take longer for DDC to actually grab it off the others and now you find my site near top (3rd position) on DDC too.

All you can do is showing patience, I assume...

Hello zac,

I really would like to but somehow there is no "edit" button, while on the main-topic post one is!
That is the reason why I posted the:
(Edit for a Mod: I may broke your forum-rules while posting the link of my website below in another answer, if so, please remove just the link, but leave the post. I did edit all other postings, which I could, to hopefully meet all rules. Thank you!)
in the first posting here.
(Actually I just found out about my fail because of https://duck.co/forum/thread/5015/awesom... and directly tried to remove all my links from my postings. Just this one I couldn't!)

All I could do now is remove the whole post and then repost my reply to "leet" and TV... but I don't know how this thread will look like then... sry!

Can't you just delete the weblink for me please? I assume you should have the rights to edit any posting, or?

Beside this, I did read the forum-rules and it doesn't really say that you are not allowed to post such. e.g.
No advertisements or spam.
Unless the link is related to DuckDuckGo and the content of your post, don't post it. (However, if your website is related to DuckDuckGo, we encourage you to share it.)
While my website has a link to duckduckgo as a suggestion since months...
and
Think before you delete.
Please use caution when editing or deleting older posts as changing them might disrupt the flow of conversation.
and
No affiliate or referral links.
Please do not post any links to websites in which you stand to gain financially from users buying products or signing up for products through your links.
There are no such links on my site...
did I miss anything else?

Hello again,

I just checked now the browser out and sry, but it failed!

Did download the portable application, started it, waited and there you go...

46.30.212.217

inetnum: 46.30.208.0 - 46.30.215.255
netname: DK-ONECOM-20100908
descr: One.com A/S

http://smartwhois.com/whois/46.30.212.21...

173.194.113.162
173.194.113.175
173.194.113.160
etc. etc.

NetRange: 173.194.0.0 - 173.194.255.255
CIDR: 173.194.0.0/16
OriginAS: AS15169
NetName: GOOGLE

http://smartwhois.com/whois/173.194.113....

are the IP's the browser will instandly start to send data to...
As reading from their website they said that they removed every google-spy, but why does it instandly start to send data there like chrome?

A real secure mod of chrome wouldn't send any data to google.
