As other users are commenting, though, I think this feature makes things a bit harder to new users. How are they going to know about !bangs?

I was trying yesterday on Firefox and Chrome and they didn't show up, but it's working now. Also, my "customized colours" are working today too, but it didn't seem to work yesterday either.

Thanks!

I think that's a good idea too. Sometimes you search for something that is now in the news but you are actually interested in something less dynamic. I.E. you might be searching for "Mozilla" to download firefox or thunderbird, or to read about what happened with their CEO. One goal is not news, the other one is.

I've been trying on Firefox and can't get the !bang to work. Am I missing something? Auto-suggest is on in my settings.

Also, the !bangs / autocomplete are faster but less intuitive, meaning new users will have a harder time finding out how to take advantage of the feature.

I do like the new design better, it's simple and clean, specially the results page.

I agree with the comment about the reed line on the top, though. To me it looks like there is something going to appear there, an expandable div with links or something like that, but apparently is just a very thin line... I wouldn't say it "adds clutter" but if the point is to add DDG colours I would add something more obvious. Maybe when you scroll down that could be a little bigger and have the search box to see what you searched for and make a new search, and the logo. Oh, and I do miss the green in "GO" under the logo.

Also, in wide screens the right side looks too empty. Not that I want to see it full of ads, but it could be a would place for instant answers (maps, wikipedia boxes, weather info...). Something simple that goes with the rest of the design, not
