I think the way it works is based on your IP address. It still doesn't record your location (at least not more than your searches are).

I like the fact that images on DDG are from safe websites, unlike Google where you get images from every website under the sun. Including some with less than honorable intentions and content.

Search for https://duckduckgo.com/?q=restaurant+mai... . What I'm sugesting is that when you click on the link, it takes you to a maps website. However OpenStreetMaps doesn't have info on the store/restaurant/etc. So why not have an open source maps website with info on the map (like GoogleMaps, Mapquest, etc.), only open source?

It wouldn't have to monitor private data, there could be "Basic Sounds" speech recognition webapp that would return something like "s-p-ee-ch r-e-q-a-g-n-i-tion" that would be optimised by the server.

I'm fairly new to DuckDuckGo and DuckDuckHack, but what you guys have done is awsome! One thing though, when you click on a link from the "Places" tab it goes to Yelp. But when you click on the address, it goes to Google Maps. Would it be possible to have something like "DuckDuckMaps"? It could be powered by OpenStreetMaps (Like the mini-map), and mabye have summaries from Wikipedia.
