Ah so you already support this tag?
In this case the setting is a bit misleading as it implies that referrer-stripping would not be done without this setting. Maybe you can change this a bit.

Also, to support more browsers, you may consider the CSP thing I explained.

Currently you can enable to hide the referrer (& therefore the search query). However this is ugly as redirections need time and right-clicking on a search result won't give you the correct link and all in all it is a quite outdated behaviour.

And there are better modern an unobtrusive alternatives. To name them:
1. Use Content Security Policy (a thing I'd suggest you anyway) and include `referrer no-referrer;` there, which makes recent browsers to ignore the referrer.
2. Use a Referrer Policy: https://w3c.github.io/webappsec-referrer...
This can be done as a HTML meta tag (with good browser support) or a HTTP header (less browser support).

Personally I'd just suggest you to combine these two methods.

a comment on the General Rambling Language/Country switch/filter does not work 2 years and 4 months ago
Have a look at this gif:

(MP4 version: https://i.imgur.com/XRSHj4V.gif)

What you can see is the following:
1. I search with an English keyword with activated language filter.
2. As the filter is set to "Germany" most results are in German. So far that's okay as it is what I expect.
3. I switch the filter off.

What happens: The results are still the German ones, although the filter is set to "off".

What should happen: Display English/international results.

Well... and if DDG would also support HPKP you could dramatically reduce the risk of bad CAs intercepting your HTTPS connection.

a comment on the General Rambling Please support HTTP Public Key Pinning and more security headers 2 years and 11 months ago
As you already described how certificates in HTTPS work you also mentioned the issue that all CAs can issue bad certs for your domain. However there is a good technology to prevent such attacks: HTTP Public Key Pinning.

Very nice idea!
Now you can easily (and mostly quickly!) report things you don't like about a particular search result.

Image format/type (photo, graphical, line drawing, transparent, animated/gif) would be nice to see.

Later a license filter (by CC licenses) would be nice and possibly also a color filter.
a reply to a comment on the General Rambling The language switch does not work; always displays everything in my native language 3 years and 1 month ago
I think I solved it.

Here is the search with Tor:

And here is the one when selecting the correct language (in the advanced settings), but *not* the region:

So as it seems also the language selected affects the search results...
