We just released a bug fix for the center/header settings not working correctly with some Themes. I think it might resolve your issue. Can you check and let me know if you still experience any issues?

You will need to go to the Settings page and update the settings once again for the changes to stick.

Thanks!

Sorry it took so long, but we just deployed a fix for this. Let me know if it's working or if you still experience any issues.

You may need to go to the Settings page and flip Center Alignment to OFF again.

Thanks!

We recently added Foursquare to our backend and we have been using it for searches in NYC where the relevancy has been really good. Our plan is exactly as you suggest, to create an option for you to select between Foursquare/Yelp/others for Local search.

In the meantime you can control which one triggers by adding "yelp" or "foursquare" to the end of the query. i.e.:

Thanks, I tried using those settings but can't reproduce...

If you don't mind, can you try Safari again? Maybe the settings there are different?

We had someone else report this yesterday. I think it might be a bug, but we haven't been able to reproduce it yet.

If it happens again can you go to duckduckgo.com/settings, click "Show Bookmarklet and Settings Data" and copy your settings JSON over here?

Sorry about that, it was a bug on our side and we just released a fix for it. We appreciate you making an exception for us!

This seems like a bug. You should be able to use a theme and then override the individual settings. It works for other settings, i.e. if you set Retro theme and then try to change the header color.

a reply to a comment on the General Rambling Redirect function within privacy automatically reverts to being switched off 2 years and 9 months ago
I tracked down the issue and we have a fix that will be rolling out shortly.

The good news is there are NO privacy impact here. It was an issue with the settings page.

The bug was introduced by changes we made last week to how the default for that setting is determined. It used to always be ON. But we now default to OFF for newer browsers that support the meta referrer tag. The meta referrer tag solves the same privacy issues in a much more elegant way, you can read more about it here: https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2015/0....

The reason we wanted to make the change is because not sending every click through the redirect will make using DDG way faster without sacrificing on privacy.

Both FF38 and Safari on newer versions of iOS support the meta referrer tag, which is why you were seeing the setting off by default.

After the fix rolls out you should be able to opt back into using redirects if you want. However, we don't think it's necessary. We're also going to update the description on the settings page to reflect these recent changes.

Thanks again for your helping finding this!
