here is one I was reading http://searchengineland.com/duck-duck-go...

the article that you are referencing is close to 2 years old whereas the one that i provided is dynamic and consistently updated

was looking for "context to traffic" a search log as your link does not really put that in perspective before or after NSA-prism

incorrect - look at graph point C labeled Surveillance revelations which clearly shows a very steep rise in usage - over 100% in <3 months following the Snowden revelations.

i agree that more results would be a good thing though when you get past 2-3 pages most of the results on any search engine tend to be worthless - still that should be left to the discretion of the user

however, you said:

This turns people away despite the privacy benefits. which also "could" explains why duckduckgo has not skyrocketed despite the prism-NSA.
which make me think that you have not looked at http://ddg.gg/traffic.html

simply? apparently no concept of the scope of such a project

if you look at other threads on the forums you will find the duckduckgo is simply a search engine and has no plans to simply create a new os

regarding I don't want to be tracked: ddg used to have a web page that told all about that and what a farce it is

for some reason they pulled that page but you can still read it on the waybackmachine at http://web.archive.org/web/2014121815333...

pretty good read

I would vote against this because the current layout is self-evident and larger logo and text would be bulky looking on the screen

you don't have to miss all the great features - you just choose to and for no good reason.

no rights are being infringed by ddg and your arguments are are myoptic and ill-founded

if you don't like how this search engine works then use another one or better yet make your own so you can exercise what you perceive as freedom in your own way

what bothers me is that your conjecture and conclusions seem to indicate that you see yourself as the sole arbitrator as to the software the rest of us should use and i find dictatorship to be the antithesis of freedom
