A similar issue I have is middle-clicking the search results in the rectangular bar (not the URL in the rectangle but some empty spot of the rectangle), for some reason this is what I get: "Firefox prevented this website from opening 1 pop-up windows", so I need to be careful where I middle click.

I think it would be great if you let some open source bulletins, technology news, know about this event, it is where hackers read. I suggest you send a link to email@example.com
with the story. I guess it should be someone associated with the project.
Open source search engine is an interesting topic.

Seems like a nice idea, I sometimes wondered how those boxes appear, this will be very helpful.
However, please make it so that it does not show up just by mouse hover, because then it could resemble the horrid Google eyeglass popups. I personally hate popups of any kind.

@second guest - but how can one be certain that you are not a machine?

I use up and down arrows instead of home and end for that purpose, but a new shortcut (to have the same effect as h, but without auto-select-all) might not be a bad idea too.

Internet explorer on an old machine is the worst combination, because you probably are using an old version too. Internet explorer is notorious for vulnerability and zero day exploits, and being used widely is the prime target for all sort of malware. In addition, firefox is much faster, more secure and using the right plugins can enhance your privacy and security. Add-ons such as adblock, and LastPass (or similar) and many more are unavoidable if you care about security and privacy.

yup that sure looks good, I actually like the darker background better than washed out version. With a non-orange (dark shade) top ribbon and dark themed duck it would be just perfect.
I should confess at first I was allergic to seeing a duck on my homepage, but now after posting some stickers in my cubicle I guess I can live with a duck on my screen, as long as it is not shiny with vibrant colors :)
