Thanks for the answer :)
about #2, yes the focus is on the search box by default but if (for any reason) I click on another part of the screen focus is no longer on the search box. If "h" keyword shortcut was enabled I could go to the search box easily, and it would be more consistent with search result page in which "h" is enabled. For me at least it works this way: I search, I use arrow keys to inspect the results, and use "h" to refine my search, in a way "h" is like the "start" button.
Anyways this is not really a big deal, and the design is far better than other search engines even now.

I got mine last week, here it goes (at my work). As ugly as the duck is, it sure gets lots of attention :)

So far:
One on my cubicle down the hall, one on my desktop computer.

I remember we already had the fancy form of average. Was there any reason to add another average goodie?
One more question I also asked before:
Is it possible to enhance factorial:
Simple ones like 5! already works but something like (3+5)! does not work on DDG yet.

I have four questions,
  1. is the middle-click site-search an expected feature in the new design? If yes, it would be great to have an option/param to turn it off, because in Firefox I use middle click to open in new tab [1].
  2. When I go to my homepage, the key h does not move the cursor/focus to the search edit box (if I click on some other part of the screen), however, as soon as a search is performed the h key does what is expected.
  3. How can I cap the size of the zero-click area, or better move it to some other part.
  4. What is really the advantage of a zero-click such as this one? If anyone require the binary of some character string in practice isn't it better to make the api smarter, maybe use a !bang or special character to specifically mention the intent.

[1] If I middle-click exactly on the URL section of the search result it is opened in new tab as expected, but if I middle click anywhere else in the rectangular box (not on the URL section but on the text snippet) a "site:website" is added to the end of my search term.

I remember there was a bug related to !ducky and sponsored links, but I guess it was solved, maybe not completely then.
BTW, I also think you have AdBlock filtering the sponsored link in the normal search.
a reply to a comment on the General Rambling Change site name to Quack 6 years and 4 months ago
Yes it does not need to be descriptive, true. I know Quack is taken and is out of option, but hey it is not descriptive too, so I do not see anybody here asks for a descriptive name.
The problem with the name "Duck Duck Go" is that: it is long, it has a verb in it already, and it has two nouns, really hard to use as a compound verb.

On the other hand I do not agree with your "If someone doesn't want to use it, they don't have to" well I want them to use it, and I think most people here share the same feeling.
Besides it will not hurt to register yet another .com domain with a short, and witty name, otherwise why on earth Google should have bought duck.com?

I agree, I tried explaining this to my colleagues, some of them already Google refugees (Google instant being the main culprit) but unfortunately they took Bing :(
The problem is that they laugh just hearing the name, many peopel make up their mind on the first impression, similar to a relationship if it starts as a non serious one it is less likely to last.
I am going to put up some stickers to get more attention but not many people like the humor.
Same is true with the orange duck head logo.

Sorry to ask this again, is the middle-click site search an expected feature in the new design? If it is would be great to have an option/param to turn it off, because in Firefox I use middle click to open in new tab.

Thanks

One more suggestion:
When I search for a common term the zero-click area could be quite huge. Is there anyway that zero-click can span to 3 columns so that search results have more room?
