Yeah this sounds like a good idea. Any of the resources I've found above would include data for the ISS (among other orbiting objects), though the merged instant answer should have a wider scope than the just displaying lat/long of the ISS.

Nice work! Very cool indeed :).

Maybe instead of displaying the whole card you could just call the artwork? I didn't test that feature of the API but I assumed it returns just the card art.

It would be nice to identify on the results page that you're being served a fortune (either by appending "Fortune:" to the beginning of line or maybe having a little paper strip background on the fortune text). Right now the fortune doesn't stand out as much as it could on the page.

This is a fantastic idea. One hurdle that comes to mind though: most sport team logos, if you wanted to display them next to the box score, require a licensing agreement due to trademark and copyrights.

This could be easily be overcome in a creative way.

Access to timely stats is another concern since most sports stats providers charge for their services. ESPN has an API but it's only open to "strategic partners" from the look of their docs.

Ideas for additional sources:

Indeed.com (http://www.indeed.com/jsp/apiinfo.jsp)
Dice (http://www.dice.com/common/content/docum...)
LinkedIn (https://developer.linkedin.com/apis)
Stackoverflow Careers (http://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/...)
Careerbuilder (http://developer.careerbuilder.com/)
Simplyhired (http://www.simplyhired.com/a/publishers/...)
USAjobs.gov (https://data.usajobs.gov/)
Elance (https://www.elance.com/q/api2)

Capturing a wide scope of job opportunities would make for a great tool, though since many listings sites are segmented by industry pulling from a variety of sources would be necessary.

Searching by job keywords and region are an obvious start but other factors such as industry, salary range, full-time/part-time, etc could be incorporated since many listings site require these details.

Let's see, we've got NOAA which has some pretty comprehensive tidal and current data (current, historic and predictive), as well as an API (http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/api/).

Their station map is a great resource as well (http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/map/)

I cannot find a good and authoritative source for this data internationally however.

Flightaware (http://flightaware.com/commercial/flight...) has an API I've seen suggested in a few places. 5 minute delay on most info updates but that's going to be a normal constraint for most flight tracking services.

Flightradar24.com is an incredible resource for flight tracking as well (beautiful map) but they have no API.
