a comment on the General Rambling Wikipedia's IA case sensitivity leads to different results 4 years and 1 month ago
I searched for "Mise en Place" and the Wikipedia's IA is about the "Mise en Place" restaurant in Tampa, Florida, while the first actual search result is a link to Wikipedia's "Mise en place" page (note lowercase p), which is about "a French phrase which means "putting in place", as in set up" (incidentally, what I was actually searching for) — this seems inconsistent.

Searching for "Mise en place" (lower p), the Wikipedia's IA is about "Mise an place" and the first search result is a link to Wikipedia's "Mise en place" — consistent

tl;dr: the case sensitivity behaviour for Wikipedia's Instant Answers and actual search results behave differently.
a reply to a comment on the General Rambling DuckDuckGo censored by commercial web blocking software! 4 years and 1 month ago
Unsettling indeed... I just visited the URL you linked and it states "Manually moved to security.proxy by LIGHTSPEED\lori at 9/10/2014 10:08 AM (Embedded player allows users to view youtube via https)".

I believe the justification is technically accurate (and Google's embedded Youtube player is http only, even when searched thru https) I don't see how using https for watching Youtube could be a security risk.
a comment on the General Rambling Stack Overflow instant answer joining lines of code 4 years and 1 month ago
I'm new around here, forgive me if this is not the proper place for this. I searched for "git remote tracking branch" and the first instant answer, from Stack Overflow, is incorrectly joining two lines of code:

In SO:

Code:
git fetch origin
git merge origin/an-other-branch

In DDG:

Code:
git fetch origin git merge origin/an-other-branch

The point is, only AA (and the services they use) should know you accessed AA. Using Google, Google knows every site you visited resulting from a Google search, and AA knows which search terms you used to search for AA.
