I am trying to since this is a fresh install (this morning) of Xubuntu 14.04 and Firefox 32.0 it was the first thing I tried as I set my home page, and this is the message I got:

Firefox could not install the search plugin from "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downl..." because an engine with the same name already exists.

But the Add ons are empty nothing is installed from DDG

I am testing browsers in three major operating systems and DDG is my home page in all. Although my preferred browser is Firefox, (always the current version) and initial loading is very slow. In Windows 7, I thought it might be the antivirus, but it is disabled for web scan. Also the Windows firewall is explicitly excludes DDG from blocking. It is the same slow loading in Mac OSX and in Linux Xubuntu. I have tested this in Firefox, Windows Explorer 11, Google Chrome, and Safari. Is there a solution for this?

To jm, Many thanks. The problem is solved with the download of the CA update package from the link below, in case someone else needs it.

The file is "rootsupd.exe" 448kb

It is the latest version of the browser. I wanted to post this to Comodo Dragon forums, But it's only promoting their products. A very frustrating experience and would not recommend this browser. Their changes to Chrome/Chromium resulted in less than what I expected.

The reason I installed it because Google Chrome won't install but they are working to resolve the problem. I sent them a detailed analysis, but it's the long weekend.

As for the certificate. Isn't it stored by Windows? That is what it says in the attached snapshot. Also, Firefox must be using the same certificate.

Using Win XP SP3 and trying to use DDG as my home page in Comodo Dragon and it says that the security certificate is invalid. While Firefox 31.0 has no problem with the certificate

This is not a problem In Win 7 SP1, using ether Chrome, Firefox, or IE 11 with each browser setting my home page to DDG without any problems.

DDG is my Home page and in Windows XP Comodo Dragon it says that there is a problem with the Security Certificate and rejected it. I exported the data to a .cer file and can forward it if it helps. On the other hand, Google Chrome in Windows 7, and in Xubuntu 14.04 has no problem with the DDG Security Certificate. What gives?

Many thanks. I've been trying to understand where to and "bangs!" and finding the list of search parameters. Can you please point me to the relevant DDG page?
