What do security certificates actually do?
2 years and 4 months ago
I appreciate the kind comments!
Yes, I agree that it's always better to have even an invalid certificate than no certificate. You won't be able to trust the identity of the server you're communicating with but at least the content will be encrypted which offers some protection. Just be aware of this fact and as you say, be especially cautious with sensitive data such as login credentials.

Thanks for the link. I can't read Portuguese but using an online translator it looks like a really good explanation of how to make DDG the default search engine on Chrome.
Looks like the author also wrote one on the advantages and disadvantages of DDG (also in Portuguese):

Thank you for the kind message - and artwork as well! I'll pass this on to the rest of the team.
You may have noticed the new feedback button at the bottom of desktop search results so feel free to use that (or these forums) to suggest your improvements.

Sentiment analysis of text and external sources in DDG
2 years and 4 months ago
I'm not really familiar with sentiment analysis but an Interesting idea. My first instinct is that doing it as a Goodie seems like a lot of work and a Spice would be easier, but if all decent external APIs are commercial then that makes it tricky.
I'm not sure who would use a sentiment analysis of a single phrase but of a Twitter feed or something would be cool.
