Although it is not annoying to me like Google, Yahoo or Bing is, DuckDuckGo still isn't satisfactory. They're not going anywhere; just sitting like a seagul waiting for more food to be dropped into the sand.

They're still focusing on the fact they don't store your IP with your search query. That's great but Google-paradigm web searching is still often useless.

DuckDuckGo is the last of its kind and it's going to die too.

So suck it! The keywords I choose arise from my situation and context. Well... meh. That sounds very Steven Pinker.

Also, I like the duck, I'm addicted to the !bang, and everything else is just better than Google. Google is so freaking annoying. There's many reasons why I'd rather not use Google or Bing or Yahoo or whatever..

I often get bothered by why I care to use DDG. No, I'm not trying to hide secrets from the government *facepalm*. People are taking way too much for granted. When I die, I'd like my history to be carried with my grandchilden, not the hard drives of some stupid asinine web company.

The fact they'e being categorized as dangerous might be a hint DuckDuckGo is actually taking obscure steps (tricky; usually used in harmful exploits) to keep you safe.

It's possible DDG is servicing the ads themself. Any request they're sent comes with an IP address anyway. It (mostly) doesn't matter unless they're sharing the IP with a 3rd party or they're storing the IP, even if they lookup the IP's geographical association during the time they service the ads. This looking thingy might be dangerous.
