This may (or may not) help. I just did a very quick test... what you might try is selecting a theme that presents the Dax logo the way that you prefer then modify those colors. In my test, the logo remained the same even after I altered the header color. I'm sure that it's not everything that you're looking for but it might be a step in the right direction.
a reply to a comment on the General Rambling Bangs 1 year and 11 months ago
I've looked at this and:
  • The sort goes across the rows then down like:
    A B C
    D E F
  • The items are sorted by the !Bang name, not the site that the !bang interacts with.
Given the volume of !Bangs, it's hard to have a viable sort feature, but if you have suggestions as to how it could be better presented we're love the input.
For me, the best solution is to use the search option on https://duckduckgo.com/bang or the !bang drop-down in the DDG search field.

By default settings are stored in non-personal browser cookies (in your browser). If you are losing these settings, your browser (or one of it's add-ons) is probably configured to delete cookies on exit. You can exclude the DDG cookie from deletion to keep your settings.

You can use Anonymous Cloud Save to store your settings in a more permanent way (on a remote server in the cloud). No personally identifiable information will be stored in the cloud, and your pass phrase will never leave your browser.

You can also use a bookmarklet URL, for example:

a reply to a comment on the General Rambling Block Duckduckgo install pop-up - how to? 2 years and 2 days ago
73's Jim and thanks for contacting us.

There are several ways that you can do this:

- Give the new start page: https://start.duckduckgo.com a try. I has a bit cleaner interface with no help, just a link to Learn More.

- Save your settings or use bookmarklet:

I tried setting this option under custom settings to off and also set advertising to off with no effect. Is there a way to stop this without installing still more software on my old tired machine?

The privacy settings in DDG do not affect your browser and using DDG as your search provider doesn't impact your !G accounts.
a reply to a comment on the General Rambling Use all the ads generated money to donate to the poor people to increase Duckduckgo's popularity 2 years and 12 days ago
It's important to remember that DDG already donates a good portion of it's income to FOSS projects. In addition, DDG needs it's monetary resources for things like payroll, infrastructure, and all the other overhead that goes into running a large web service. I all the money went to the poor, all of the services would need to be shut down which would decrease DDG's popularity.

With increased revenue, Duckduckgo can use the additional money to help improve Duckduckgo's services while introducing new services, which will also increase Duckduckgo's popularity.
But, again, if DDG gave all the money away, there would be nothing to spend on the new services.

Thanks
a reply to a comment on the General Rambling Stop Correcting Me 2 years and 14 days ago
That's interesting, because I just did the search that you suggested and only got "jo deviess" in my results, and no request for a spelling correction:

The reliable way of disabling spell checking is to use the Limit results to xxx option when spelling suggestions are presented.

Repeat answer from above, PLEASE READ!
