I created a new github repository for the themes: http://github.com/duckduckgo/themes

I initially added the unminimized JS & CSS, and will add comments to the CSS.

Doesn't seem to be a specific Wikipedia category for disney characters. These category pages are created automatically for a bunch of sources, not just Wikipedia, but Wikipedia is the biggest.

I'd love to know everyone's experiences, but I personally find 0-click the easiest to explain and excite people.

Generally, they are not, but they can be, especially with the 0-click info. For example,

I'm going to try to do some promotion and I'm looking for "Wow" queries, i.e. those queries that produce results that make you go "wow, this is cool/better." If you come across any of these, please let me know.

Ones that have wow'd me:

I would love to find a way to create a community around the zero-click info, and I've actually implemented a lot of what you said, though it is now hidden. I think the current implementation needs some work, but I'll show it to you and you can see what I started doing.

It started with input like this: http://duckduckgo.com/zero.html

Then it would relate to a voting page like this: http://duckduckgo.com/z/psychology

I didn't create much of a backend yet for it though, and I wasn't sure exactly where to take it or engage a larger community in its design/use.

Basically, I launched this MVP and it almost immediately got overrun by spam and/or people weren't usefully submitting info. They were just submitting their site with their marketing text.

Originally, I thought you could have like a button system and add a badge to say a blog post about a certain topic. You could mark up that page with the snippet image and I would crawl it and pull out the info. Then your users could add their vote for it directly from the site. But the whole markup thing seemed confusing so I fell back to this current submission model.

Again, I very much welcome this discussion!

Previously I had the first result highlighted but this was causing confusion that it was an ad, so I took that initial highlighting off, but I see your point that then it seems the 0-click box is highlighted.

I do think it could use a UI improvement, e.g. de-emphasizing like you say. I'm open to suggestions there if anyone has any particular change ideas.

As for making it the default, I tried this for a while but it caused more confusion than having the first link be the default. I could, however, make a keyboard shortcut to auto-go to that result. Thoughts on that idea?

I would like to do search suggestions, and could use UX ideas. There was someone who was going to help with this project, but I haven't heard from him in a while, so I'm not sure where that stands but I can find out.

Google et al. use their past data to come up with the suggestions, and of course our data is lacking in this regard (in size), so complete replication is a bit difficult.

A homegrown version I've been thinking about is to highlight DDG Topics, i.e. related searches where we have good 0-click info. This might be more akin to Facebook or Wikipedia auto-complete. Would love to know your thoughts on that.
